Tough call for Talent Corp - Let's be realistic
I wrote a letter in response to a write up by Citizen Nades in The Sun newspaper. I was pretty upset there are actually people like that. No wonder they live abroad.
I didn’t know they actually printed it.
Enjoy.
Let’s be realistic
I REFER to "Tough call for Talent Corp" (Citizen Nades, Jan 5). I am amused by the comments about certain personalities promoting our country as mere eating places, to lure back talented Malaysians from abroad. However, I am not amused by the comments made by some Malaysian professionals in London.

The writer cited nine people. If these are the comments of Malaysian professionals we are attracting to contribute to the development of Malaysia, I would rather not have them back home.
Persons number 1, 3, 5, 6, 7 and 9, speak ill of Malaysia. They speak as if, Malaysia is full of bigots, racists and sociopaths who have no regard for common humanity. I am not saying there aren’t such people. What I am saying is, we are no different from any other country. These people speak as if UK is devoid of such problems. I am sure if we scratch a little, we can find a few.
Also, the US stands in line too. Major corporations that used to be American icons have collapsed over the past two years. Are they better than Malaysians? The US has always been a racist, bigoted country since the Mayflower Pilgrims landed at Plymouth. It went from witchcraft, to differences in religion, colour, race, now back to religion. And we Malaysians can’t see that?
As for the others the writer cited, I can only say to them, have a sense of reality. You want people to respect your rules, but not others. Malaysia does not recognise Israel. If they can’t see why, I am not sure they can be called professionals. As for a Lebanese Muslim converting to Christianity, Islam has a law against that. Respect that law.
Again, if these are the type of people we want to bring back, all I can say is, no need, stay there, because we don’t need people like that.
